Registration is open for the Architecture category of the Roca Awards to the Hotel Initiative
Today we start a journey through the history of the Roca Awards to the Hotel Initiative organised by Gran Hotel Turismo, and the journey starts with the winners in the Architecture category.
This category has existed since the very beginning of these prestigious awards and the first hotel to win was the Rey Juan Carlos I in Barcelona in 1993. This hotel was followed by Hotel Albons in Girona (1995), the Riu Palace Meloneras in Gran Canaria (1997), the Anthelia Park in Tenerife (1999), the Hotel Capital in Barcelona (2001), the Eurostars Grand Marina in Barcelona (2003), the Silken Puerta América in Madrid (2006), the Marqués de Riscal in Elciego, Álava (2008), the Santos Porta Fira, in l’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona (2011) and the Room Mate Aitana in Amsterdam, Netherlands (2016)
The last hotel to receive this award was the Cotton House Hotel, Autograph Collection in Barcelona in the 2016 edition (see image).
Any newly built hotel or any building refurbished to be used as hotel opened after the 1st July 2016 can submit an application to the Architecture category of the 2018 edition of the Roca Awards to the Hotel Initiative, while the registration period is open.
The registration period ends on the 25th April and registrations may be submitted on www.premiosrocahotel.com/en/inscripcion
