The magazine Gran Hotel launches the Roca Awards to the Best Hotel Initiative
The 2016 Edition of the awards has brand new categories and includes a series of special awards:
1st Hotel Architecture
Newly built hotel or refurbished building for hotel use that opened from January 1st 2014 to 31st December 2015.
Works carried out from January 1st 2014 to 31st December 2015. We will take into account the renovation and decoration of a hotel with the aim to improve its services and atmosphere.
3rd Seaside Holiday Hotel
Hotel aimed mainly at offering its guests an enjoyable seaside holiday. We will value its location, surroundings, cuisine, facilities, leisure activities, etc.
4th Mountain Holiday Hotel
Hotel aimed mainly at offering its guests an enjoyable holiday in the mountains. We will value its location, surroundings, cuisine, suitable facilities for mountain sports, etc.
5th Hotel Cuisine
We will value both the quality and the creativity of the cuisine, as well as the dining room service.
6th Conference and Convention Hotel
We will value the quality of the facilities to hold conferences, conventions and incentive outings, as well as the audiovisual and technical services, the catering options, communication, etc.
7th Wellness Hotel
The establishment that can offer the widest range of thermal, thalassotherapy, spa, relaxation and beauty treatments, among others, as well as a healthy cuisine.
8th Urban Hotel
Well-located establishment within a city that favours the use of the hotel both for business purposes and leisure city breaks.
9th Sustainable Hotel
We Are Water Foundation Award
Hotel that includes the most sustainable and innovative solutions regarding water and energy saving.

2nd Grand Jury Prize Special Award
The jury reserves the right to grant special awards in recognition for the cultural offer of a hotel, for the work carried out by a tourist office, region or country to promote tourism, for a company's effort to improve its technology or sustainability, etc.
3rd Honour Award in Recognition for the Hotel and Tourist Personality
Grand Jury Prize
These awards were born in 1993 and are given out every two years. Their aim is to acknowledge the hotels and their managers for their contribution to the innovation of a sector in constant development and that seeks to continually reinvent itself and cause a sensation. Achieving one of these awards contributes to the prestige of those who work to improve the tourist industry, which is the main engine of Spain's economy. In 2016 we celebrate the eleventh edition of these awards.
